The Advanced Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Control group is offering interesting job opportunities starting Summer 2021 in collaboration with Emulate Energy (https://www.emulate.energy/).
Emulate Energy provides a software solution for coordinating the electricity use of air conditioning, heat pumps, and eV charging. Through proper coordination, these units can collectively mimic a single, well-understood battery that can be used to balance renewable energy production and support electrification of transportation and heat. The solution is a spin off from MIT research and a brief overview is given here: https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://news.mit.edu/2017/virtual-batteries-cheaper-cleaner-power-0324__;!!LkSTlj0I!WY-mCnmIDwvV3jy7s8Uh3W9BhWlvOFcXo8CdMfE1mJ7N04eLBd4_P6DlZT0W-1GNVLj7$
We have several summer projects related to modeling, learning, and control of heat pumps and are looking for interested students to help us address them. For more information, please contact:
